Ayhe's Blog

It´s been a long, long time since the last time I posted something in my blog other than music videos.

So today I am showing an artwork I enjoyed doing the last week.

Under my hand, the Dc avatars from War and Peace were portrayed.
The guy is Hank Hall, and the girl is Dawn Granger. Their powers were given by two Lords of Chaos and Order to prove to the other Lords of Chaos and Order that the two forces could work together. Also, T'Charr and Terataya - the Lords who empowered them -were in love and had been hunted by their respective houses ever since .
Aww... I am a sucker for stories like this one!
I also read that they were dying, so Hawk and Dove absorbed the essence of their respective creators or there would not be anymore Hawk and Dove to fight against evil!

I wanted to know a bit more, apart from what I read in wikipedia so I checked the Polite Dissent website and here I quote something really interesting:

On their death bed, T’Charr and Terataya tell the pair that an eon ago the unthinkable happened: a Lord of Order and a Lord of Chaos fell in love. In order to prove to others that Chaos and Order can successfully work together, they created the spell that created Hawk and Dove, linking Hawk to Chaos and Dove to Order. However, with the death of Unity, the spell will end and Hawk and Dove will cease to be — unless Hank and Dawn absorb the dying essences of their respective Lords. Dove quickly absorbs Tertraya’s essence and Hawk, after some unsubtle coercion, absorbs T’Charr’s.

The dying Lords share a short conversation as their essence fades. There is a brief mention of “completing the experiment” and then a kiss. As they kiss, the Hawk and Dove of Druspa Tau revert to the Hawk and Dove of Earth, and then back to Hank and Dawn — still kissing. They break off the embrace and realize they are back in Dawn’s bedroom on Earth. As the issue ends, Hank and Dawn are left wondering what happens now that they’ve absorbed not only the powers of T’Charr and Tertaya, but also their feelings for each other.

O_O That´s a really something!
I am not suprised that in the Hawk & Dove Annual #1, they avoided each other for a good time.
But then, they rejoined forces to fight against evil and became partners again. Other events happened, and I read a bit about Hawk´s death and his eventual ressurrection during the Blackest Night saga.

Now they are back together as a team, Dove is worried aboutHank's behavior. He has become even more violent than he had been prior to his death, and I think that Dove is relieved about joining the Birds of Prey team...so she, at least, is not alone dealing with the explosive temper of Hank. Dinah Lance, alas the Black Canary, is far from being happy to have him in the team. Zinda, on the other hand, found Hank quite atractive and asked Dawn about his love life.

I am following the Brightest Day and Birds of Prey, not only because I am enjoying reading the plot. I am absolutely dying to know what´s going to happen to the Duo!
And yes, I am also very interested about their love life *giggle*

In the Brightest Day chapters, Deadman accidentally teleported into Dawn´s room while she is sleeping. Hawk , of course very pleased, crashed in and held him toward a wall. His mood wasn´t much better while eating hamburguers in a dine.

Dawn was very nice with Boston and , again, reassured that Hank isn´t her boyfriend. (Actually I wonder if Hank, actually, broke the jukebox because he overheard that instead of hating the Dixie Chiks song ;))

I know, I enjoy imagining a love vibe in each story I read *giggle* , but after seeing this scan I wonder if eventually something lovey-dovey will happen.

Meanwhile, in BRIGHTEST DAY #8 Dove vanished in the air with Deadman, leaving poor Hawk behind and clueless!

I hope everybody likes my artwork! You can also view it in my Deviantart Page
